What is sub-field drive?

The image you see on a television screen is made up of a series of still images, flashed across the screen at high speed.

Each image frame displayed on screen is made up of underlying pictures called sub-fields. Conventional plasma technology uses 8 sub-fields per frame with 50 frames flashing per second (a total of 400Hz Sub-field Drive).

600hZ Sub-field Driving

LG's latest range of plasma televisions feature 600Hz Sub-field Driving technology. Twelve sub-fields per frame are displayed, so images are rendered in exceptionally rich detail with reduced motion blur from one split second to the next.
