What is sub-field drive?

The image you see on a television screen is made up of a series of still images, flashed across the screen at high speed.

Each image frame displayed on screen is made up of underlying pictures called sub-fields. Conventional plasma technology uses 8 sub-fields per frame with 50 frames flashing per second (a total of 400Hz Sub-field Drive).

600Hz Max Sub-field Driving

LG's televisions that feature 600Hz Max Sub-field Driving technology have the ability to display twelve sub-fields per frame under the condition of "maximum" in Energy Saving Mode.
