Next-generation C2 Fine™ LCD panel for full high-definition projection
 |
C2 FINE™ LCD panel
|
Traditionally, most LCD panels found in projectors have been manufactured with organic compounds that, with enough usage, will begin to break down over time, resulting in loss of picture quality and contrast. The next-generation C2 Fine™ LCD panel found in the HC5000 is comprised of inorganic compounds, so even after long hours of use, high picture quality is maintained with high contrast. This 1920 x 1080 dot full-HD resolution LCD panel can reproduce images of true high-definition quality.

* When voltage is not being applied, the liquid crystal molecules are aligned vertically against the glass substrate, so there is no leakage of light as with conventional LCD systems, ensuring a deeper reproduction of black.
Newly developed full-HD compatible lens
 |
ED (extra-low dispersion) glass lenses
|
In order to display full-HD resolution, the HC5000 is equipped with a lens system comprised of 17 elements in 14 groups, including three ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses, which are more costly and deliver higher performance than conventional glass lenses. This lens system dramatically improves chromatic aberration and peripheral focus.
New optical engine greatly increases installation flexibility
 |
New optical engine
|
To allow impressive big-screen images to be enjoyed even in a small room, the HC5000 is equipped with a 1.6x power zoom and focus. The projection distance for a 100-inch (16:9) picture is just 3.1 meters. In addition, there is also a power lens shift for moving the lens vertically and horizontally, greatly increasing installation flexibility.
One of the industry's quietest projectors, just 19 dB
Due to the redesigned cooling system and the use of a low-noise fan, operating noise has been reduced to an amazingly low 19 dB (low mode).
Mitsubishi Electric unique auto iris for high contrast of up to 10,000:1
The HC4900 is equipped with an auto iris featuring a proprietary Mitsubishi Electric aperture design. A unique algorithm enables detection of colour information in addition to conventional brightness information, so the colour information in dark scenes can be vividly reproduced without getting lost.
Equipped with 5000-hour* long-life lamp
 |
| Long-life lamp |
The optimum design for temperature control of the new colour light source lamp, as well as Mitsubishi Electric's unique lighting timing, have extended the useful life of the lamp to a maximum of 5000 hours.
Dust protection for the LCD panel
 |
Dust protection cover
|
To prevent dust from adhering to the LCD panel, the LCD block is equipped with a dust protection cover.
Side Loading Lamp
Users can replace the lamp with out taking down the projector if ceiling mounted. This design simplifies lamp replacements without turning the projector around or over when mounted on the ceiling or resting on a shelf. This design helps to reduce overall cost of ownership and maintenance.
HDMI and DVI Connectors
Allows for a true digital connection to your HD equipment.

*Maximum of 5000 hours at low mode and 2000 hours at standard mode. Lamp life is defined as the average time until brightness is reduced by half; it is not a guaranteed life for all lamps. Lamp life will vary considerably depending on the usage environment and conditions, and whether regular maintenance such as cleaning is performed.
